  Can I ask for leave this afternoon?

Leave off 一共有 3 个意思，如下，没有表达离开或者请假的意思。

1.      leave off - come to an end, stop or cease; 停止，中断

2.      leave off - prevent from being included or considered or accepted 排除

  ( 虽然已经说了 correct 也不是很好，但比‘化妆’容易让人不产生歧义 )

可以这么表达：

I wish there will be a new episode of prison break everyday.

播放电视剧 ， 电影 ， 音乐时 ， 播放这个词是不会使用专门词汇的。例如 ： broadcast.

电影上映 ， A good movie is playing tonight. 今晚将上映一部好电影。

Restaurants often play music. 餐厅经常播放音乐。

The movie will be on this weekend. 这部电影本周末上映。

The news won't be on tonight. 这条新闻今晚电视台不会播放。

              The first episode goes out next Friday evening at 8.00 pm.
               下星期五晚上 8 时播出第一集 .
